Welder / Fabricator
This position is for an experienced Welder/ Fabricator who will be responsible for the proper, productive and safe fitting of various components with select welding processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Attend work on the schedule established by the employer and without excessive absenteeism.
All employees are required to follow all safety procedures as outlined by the company’s policies.
Welding– you will be required to operate equipment using processes such as, Gas metal arc, Flux-cored arc, Shielded metal arc and TIG welding within the parameters outlined in our weld procedures. Welds will be cleaned and inspected for quality and attention to detail.
Fabricating– Analyzes engineering blueprints and specifications to plan, layout, position and secure parts and assemblies by tacking and or welding using the fixtures and proper procedures given. Employees will be expected to heat, form and dress metal parts in the fabrication process
Knowledge and use of hand tools of the trade. – Grinders, tape measure, torches, plasma cutting torch, powered saws, calipers and other precision measuring equipment.
Material Handling– Knowledge and safe use of overhead cranes, jibs hoist and fork lifts.
Minimum requirements:
Candidate should have a basic welding aptitude, 2 years related work experience using AWS practices and or ASME code welding is preferred .
Must have basic blue print reading skills and weld procedure interpretation
Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must be able to push and pull a minimum of 100 lbs.
Must be able to work proficiently with hands and wrist.
Must be able to walk or stand for up to 10 hours at a time
Must be able to operate machinery and be able to operate foot controls on equipment
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREEN, PHYSICAL AND BACKGROUND CHECK WHICH IS MANDATORY.
Must have a valid drivers license
