Fleet Technician

As a Fleet Technician for Rainbow Companies, you will join the team that maintains and repairs our wide variety of fleet vehicles and service equipment. This includes both preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel, gas-powered, and electric vehicles and equipment. You are able to perform accurate diagnosis of issues through visual inspection, use of diagnostic equipment, and calibration devices.
You have a technical certification or hands-on experience, a willingness to jump in, learn new skills, and help solve any technical issue. We provide on-the-job paid training and needed certifications. All shop tools and mobile tools are provided in a truck. This is a full-time weekday position with overtime available. We have three locations housing vehicles and equipment in the Twin Cities. We are located in Minnetonka, Burnsville, and Little Canada.
What You Will Do:

Maintain and repair large fleet; including cars, trucks, small engines, and other specialty items
Perform periodic safety inspections of all fleet items
Determine required repairs using visual inspection, engine diagnostic equipment, and calibration devices
Perform occasional on-site field repair
Complete detailed work orders, maintenance records, and other required documentation

Qualifications:

High school diploma or a GED
Class D or higher
2 years related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

2-year technical degree or 4 years related work experience
Commercial driver license ability to obtain within 90 days (we pay for test)
Welding and fabrication experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
May be required to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects; may be exposed to conditions including chemicals, the use of tools, and equipment. Safety precautions must be followed at all times, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and other safety equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at any given time.
