Duties

operates a small full-service coffee shop, preparing and serving the full range of coffee beverages and other specialty non-alcoholic drinks.
Prepares and serves simple food items.
Operates coffee shop machinery to include commercial espresso machine, etc.
Records sales, takes customer payments for goods by operating a cash register, balances cash drawer at the end of the day.

Requirements
Conditions of Employment

Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
Must be willing and able to work irregular hours to include Federal holidays, weekends, and evenings.
Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally 20 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work without close supervision.
Willing to work primarily indoors, and be exposed to cuts, burns from hot steam and liquids..

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds AND
Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and inventory AND
Possess skill in mixing and serving the full range of coffee beverages and other specialty non-alcoholic drinks AND
Experience utilizing a commercial espresso machine AND
Willing to cross train and monitor the work of other staff AND
Willing and able to complete a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually AND
Physically able to stand for prolong periods of time.

A Federal Wage System (NA, NL, or NS position) employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5 percent for the entire shift when a majority of the employee’s regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work falls between the hours of 1500 and 2400.
A Federal Wage System (NA, NL, or NS position) employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10 percent of the scheduled rate if most non-overtime work hours occur between 2300 and 0800.
Night shift differential will be paid for all regularly scheduled (including regularly scheduled flexible employees) work.
