We are accepting applications from outgoing and reliable Baristas for future openings at Origin Coffee Co. (Lake Placid & Saranac Lake)

As part of the Origin Coffee Co barista team, you will prepare and serve beverages to our recipes and standards, ensuring an excellent experience for our guests through attention to detail and personal connections.
In addition to preparing drinks, barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drink menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, and taking accurate orders while providing the friendly experience we are known for. Baristas are responsible for daily cleaning and maintaining the front of the house, including all machines on the bar, dining areas, coffee bar, bathrooms, and retail shelves. Baristas must be able to work confidently in both a steady and fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this role, you must have exceptional customer service skills, be responsible, professional and reliable, and have passion for the product and experience we are providing.
Responsibilities
Greet customers as they enter
Be knowledgeable about our menus and answer customer questions regarding coffee, ingredients, and preparation methods
Take orders while paying attention to details
Prepare beverages following the recipes
Serve beverages and prepared food such as cookies, pastries, and muffins
Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
Keep the bar and all areas the of the dining room/FOH clean
Complete daily opening, closing, and side-work checklists
Monitor and maintain stock of retail cooler, tables, bar area, and beverage ingredients
Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
Comply with NYS health and safety regulations
Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new seasonal menu features
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills
Previous work experience as a Barista, hands-on experience with brewing equipment
Ability to work shifts that start as early as 6:30 am, weekday, weekend and holiday availability
Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere
Basic math skills and computer literacy
Ability to work on your feet for 6-9 hours of repetitive motion at a time and be able to lift up to 40 lbs
