Harwood Group Practice

Starting Hourly Rate £10.19 – 37 Hours per week with opportunities for regular overtime.

Experience in General Practice is preferred however, training will be provided on-site.

The suitable candidate will:

Provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others. To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting the Practice and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional basis. To ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled to the mutual satisfaction of the partners and patients.

Main Duties will include:

  • Scanning post and following the pathway to file
  • Read-coding
  • Solicitor & Legal requests
  • Deductions & Summarising
  • Private non-NHS prep work
  • Filing documents from EDT to patient notes
  • Completing registrations
  • Banking
  • Completing DS1500 forms
  • Input data into excel spreadsheets
  • Filing Lloyd George notes
  • Project work
  • Chasing records from previous Practices
  • General Administration tasks

Experience working with EMIS, Excel, DOCMAN and PCSE is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

We expect all applicants to be able to:

Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly.

Ensure working areas are kept neat and tidy

Answering incoming telephone call queries, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly.

Undertake administration tasks as allocated by Management/GPs.

Ensure up-to-date maintenance of both computerised and manual filing systems (i.e. patient notes).

This job description is not exhaustive and may be adjusted periodically after review. You will also be expected to carry out any other reasonable duties, which may be allocated by the Practice Manager or Office Manager.

Monday – 8am till 4pm
Tuesday – 8am till 4pm
Wednesday – 8am till 3.30pm
Thursday – 8am till 4pm
Friday – 8am till 4pm

COVID-19 considerations:
All patients must wear a mask unless exempt. Staff are expected to wear a mask when moving around the building. PPE is provided by the practice. Hand washing facilities and hand gel are available throughout the practice.
