Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Targeted Lung Health Checks (TLHC) Administration Coordinator to joining our Lung Cancer Service. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, able to accurately input data and confident in the use of technology. The successful candidate will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and communication skills.

The targeted lung health checks (TLHC) programme is a new and ground-breaking flagship programme of work in England which will contribute to the ambition of the NHS Long Term Plan to improve early diagnosis and survival for those diagnosed with lung cancer.

The TLHC Administration Coordinator will be responsible for navigating patients referred into NUH as a result of significant findings on their TLHC CT scan. On the most part these findings will be a suspected lung cancer but a number other findings requiring secondary care intervention will be referred into NUH. The TLHC coordinator will work collaboratively with the wider screening project team to provide a seamless pathway for patients.

Essential criteria

    • Good all round education (i.e. 2 GCSEs at equivalent of grade 4 or above including English), or equivalent demonstrable experience in a similar role.
    • NVQ level 4 in administration or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Experience

Essential criteria

    • Experience in a customer/patient services environment, dealing with the members of the general public.
    • Experience of working and liaising within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Experience of using computerised systems including Microsoft Office (eg Word and Excel)

Desirable criteria

    • Experience of working with an NHS Acute Trust.

    • Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information both written and verbally to different audiences including patients, GPs, managers, administration colleagues and clinicians.

I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post.
